    Hi,

I have a perculiar problem on my permalink. If you go to http://thefinance.sg/2009/10/04/test/ it will show my default homepage http://thefinance.sg and I will have to do a ctrl+F5 for the permalink to appear properly.

I have just upgraded WP (via automatic upgrade) and migrated to a new webhost. I have de-activated all plugins, check that my .htaccess content is correct and permissions is set to 777 and tested with the default wordpress theme.

Appreciate if any kind soul can assist me.

  • Works here on first load, no refresh required, have you tried clearing your browser cache..

p.s. the link you provided above has a comma on the end, but without it’s working on the first load of the page just fine.

    Hi t31os,

Thanks for the spot, I have removed the comma.

You mean clicking on http://thefinance.sg/2009/10/04/test/ bring you directly to my test post? Can you also try clicking on the other categories and post to check?

I have refresh my browser (both IE and firefox) but it just shows my default homepage and I have to ctrl+F5 a couple of times just to go to the correct permalink.

Works fine for me too (test post and categories).

Hmm… That’s strange. I ask a three of my friends to test it out. 2 of them had the same problem while one do not have. I suspect there is a cache somewhere and I’m still figuring it out.

Will appreciate if the others can try it out and let me know if the permalinks are working.

    An update,

I installed chrome and some permalinks were working. However, the next time I try, the permalinks is not working again. Each time I clear my browser history, a random number of links will work and then not work again.

    Strange…

The problem was resolved today. I’m not sure if it is because the World Wide Web or the ISP has a cache somewhere and I have to wait or because my webhost support team created a new .htaccess file for me.

Thank you for testing it out for me.
