Permalinks Help – I've tried everything…

    So now i am asking for a little insight. Whenever I try to use custom permalinks, the page navigation to older subsequent pages does not work. I get

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_header() in /home/content/m/a/t/mathewshamloo/html/page.php on line 1

    All other links (posts, archives, pages, etc.) work. It seems to just be the page nav from the index.

    I have looked at all forum posts and troubleshooting on this and other sites, but can’t seem to pinpoint the solution. I’ve changed the .htaccess, mod_rewrites, and installed plug-ins. Am I missing something obvious or what?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?
