Support » Fixing WordPress » Permalinks -> homepage only returning “Page not found”

  • Been going through a ton of old posts and this seems to be a problem several people have encountered. Could not find an answer in either posts or by going through troubleshooting steps from the codex though, so hope someone here can help.

I have a brand new wordpress installation on an IIS server, no plugins that could interfere. Everything is working as it should. When I try enabling custom permalinks, ie:

    index.php/%category%/%postname%/

all pages display as they should, with permalinks working correctly. Except my homepage, which returns a “page not found”.

    Anyone?

  • There’s (been) a problem with index.php in the permalinks since 2.6 and I don’t know if that’s been solved. You might want to try a permalink without index.php in it and see if that helps.

    Hi Superstooge,

I’ve got exactly the same problem.

have you found any solution on this?

    Cheers
