Trying to be proactive with my plugins, testing them BEFORE a new major release of WP comes out. So far 3.5 looks better and my plugins are testing OK.
Permalinks is not looking very good on Edit Post
Version: WordPress 3.5-beta2-22551.
Was on 3.4.2 with the default permalink structure.
Went to edit the default “Stuff” post, changed content & saved. No problems.
Saw the new format for the “permalink bar” and decided to try out “Change Permalink”.
Changed to month + post name.
Went back to the “Stuff” post.
The Permalink bar shows … /wp/2011/07/65 (subdir + year + month + post ID). This is incorrect.
Go to the site, home page is OK but ALL pages are broken directing to the year + month + post ID. I tried replacing the address with /stuff instead of 65 at the end with no luck.
Change the site back to the default Permalink (simple post ID passed as URL param) and the site works again.
So the first issue is that the month + name should have made the post permalink 2011/07/stuff (at least that is what it was doing in 3.4.X, second issue is the permalink redirect seems to be disconnected (probably related to first issue).
Is this a known issue? Should I create a report on Trac (never done that before, but it can’t be that different from github).
3.5 is looking good overall. WP Core devs are doing a great job as always!
