• I built a site on my local hard disk using WAMP for the server. I created a back up of the files using the Duplicator plugin. I created a database using phpmyadmin. I imported the mysql database from the Duplicator files. I uploaded all the wordpress files into the right public_html folder. Then I changed wp-config to point to the new database. The domain points the site site properly.

If I have permalinks set to default, all the pages work. If I change them to /postname/ for example, they don’t work. I get an error like this:

“The requested URL /contact/ was not found on this server.”

I updated the .htaccess file. Copy/pasted in the code about modrewrite. Even changed file permissions and let wordpress update it.

    Any ideas?
