Permalinks direct to a blank page

    Hi, I am having trouble using the permalink to my first blog as it directs me to a blank page.

    I have installed wordpress to my webspace at http://www.jamesnovis.com in a folder called blog.

    I have checked the wordpress general settings, and the site url reads: http://www.jamesnovis.com/blog as does the wordpress address url.

    I have checked with my host, byethost, to make sure that mod_rewrite has been enabled, and it has.

    When I click on the permalink to my blog it gives me this address:
    http://www.jamesnovis.com/blog/?p=5

    which comes up with a completely blank page.

    Can anyone help this noob, please.

    The page says “coming soon”. So not much to see there.

    If you look at the source of your page all you see is this (i.e. not much):

    I am not using wordpress to generate the entire site, but I am hosting a blog from my webspace, ShowMeWithVideos.

    Tara, the main website does say ‘coming soon’ as I do not want to launch until it is ready, however I do want to run my wordpress blog, and share that on social media.

    I have got so far as installing wordpress, writing my first blog and then clicking the permalink provided, only to find it directs me to a blank page.
