permalinks config shows blank page

    hi.
    i set up wp on a server and everything works fine except when i go into admin interface/settings and click on the permalinks i get empty space below under the line on which settings text is.

    any ideas?
    mod_rewrite is loaded.
    i tried both creating empty .htaccess and or deleting it.

    I had the same problem. It turned out my site was running on PHP4, and the problem disappeared when I switched it to PHP5 (in the host’s control panel).
