    Hi, Folks.
I want to update my website (minisail.org.uk) to use postnames rather than the default page numbers. It won’t do it because it can’t update the .htaccess file. I’m comfortable with ssh-ing in to the (linux) website and chmodding as necessary, but… where should the .htaccess file go? I’ve tried a few different places, but no success so far.
    Regards, David

It should be placed in the root WordPress folder (ie the one with wp-config.php in it).

OK, many thanks for that. I thought I’d tried that, but I’ll try again, and see what happens.
