# Permalink structures

 * I tried to change permalink structure. The only one that works is the default
   one.
 * Running on a windows server, PHP5, Mysql4 and wp2.6.
 * Does anyone have any ideas?

 * Read [this](http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks). It _could_ be that 
   your host doesn’t offer mod_rewrite. I had the same issue in the beginning, but
   as soon as I had an htaccess file, the “pretty permalinks” suddenly started working
   too, as if the function can’t make a new htaccess. Anyway, this was _way back_,
   so I’d look into the mod_rewrite subject if I were you.
