# Permalink Situation

 * I just noticed a bunch of problems with my permalinks that weren’t happening 
   a few days ago.
 * I have permalinks set to use this scheme
 * [http://slimtainment.com/idolblog/1198](http://slimtainment.com/idolblog/1198)
 * and everything with posts works just fine. The problem lies with the pages. They
   of course should use the same structure but do not. they end up coming up as
 * [http://slimtainment.com/idolblog/video-archive-3/top-12-boys-22008](http://slimtainment.com/idolblog/video-archive-3/top-12-boys-22008)
 * instead of
 * [http://slimtainment.com/idolblog/?page_id=1173](http://slimtainment.com/idolblog/?page_id=1173)
 * like they should which is no problem except for the fact that any new pages written
   and published come up as a 404
 * [http://slimtainment.com/idolblog/video-archive-3/top-10-boys](http://slimtainment.com/idolblog/video-archive-3/top-10-boys)
 * I have updated my permalinks and even contacted my host. They are stumped and
   so am i. I have looked through the forum and can’t find something that will work
   for my situation.
 * Any ideas? If I switch back to default permalinks new pages created show just
   fine but I don’t want to have to change back. I need to use the permalink function
   I have been using right along

 * “The problem is the permalinks for Pages, it’s not forming the link between
    
   the rewrite and the actual page.”
