Support » Fixing WordPress » Permalink redirect from site.com/post-name/ to site.com/news/post-name

  • I have over 360 articles on my site, and they’re all structured as site.com/post-name/. I want to put more structure on the site, so I want those articles to go to site.com/news/post-name/.

Here’s the catch: not everything in the site.com/post-name/ structure is an article. So I don’t want the entire site to go into one subdirectory/subfolder.

How do I set up a redirect on all my articles so that the entire site doesn’t appear broken—and without having to manually fix all the internal links or lose any external links???

  • Hello jaredheath,

Please Go to your permalink setting page select the custom Structure and add the below line in textbox and save the changes. Now your single post url will be site.com/news/post-name.Please check.

    /news/%postname%/

    Thanks

I got that part figured out long before this post. The question is, how do I set up 301-redirects for all the posts if they weren’t in a dedicated subfolder.
