# permalink question…

 * Hello all…
 * been playing with permalinks…i want them (and if possible my URL) to read
    [http://www.example.com/scams-targeting-writers/writer-beware](http://www.example.com/scams-targeting-writers/writer-beware)
   with scams-targeting-writers being the category and writer-beware the article
   name… if i use /%post-name%/ the URL is [http://www.example.com/category/scams-targeting-writers](http://www.example.com/category/scams-targeting-writers)
   which is the category and not the article..and the permalink is Permalink: [http://www.example.com/%post-name%/](http://www.example.com/%post-name%/)
   if I use /%category%/%post-name%/ the URL is the same as above [http://www.barbaradoyen.com/category/scams-targeting-writers/](http://www.barbaradoyen.com/category/scams-targeting-writers/)
   and the permalink is Permalink: [http://www.example.com/scams-targeting-writers/%post-name%/](http://www.example.com/scams-targeting-writers/%post-name%/)
   how can i get the URL (if possible) or at the very least the permalink to be 
   [http://www.example.com/scams-targeting-writers/writer-beware](http://www.example.com/scams-targeting-writers/writer-beware)?
   or is this not a permalinks issue but a categories one?

 * the symbol for postname is %postname% NOT %post-name%
 * change it and you will have different results
