  • You should use pretty permalinks but why would you want it like that?

If you’re adding keywords and duplicating post title in your permalink for the purpose of trying to improve your page rank on Google, forget about it. Google page rank is only dependent on external links to your page.

    thanks for ur reply.
the main thing is my blog has 10k posts and none of them gets hits from any search engines , i mean posts dont show up in google only traffic i get is to my main page.
so i m dying to get more traffic,

i created one more blog and has permalink like /keyword1-%postname%-keyword2/ and its getting good traffic on posts .

You should use pretty permalinks but shouldn’t stuff it with keywords and duplicated title as you’ve written in your first post. Words in permalinks are not of much significance to Googlebot so better to keep it simple for the users. Good content is what matters.

If you haven’t done it already, there are a two things you can do to help Google index your pages.
    1. Create a sitemap with the Google XML Sitemaps plugin.
    2. Use Google Webmaster Tools.

    thanks for your reply,
i have created xml sitemap and have submittted to google webmasters tools, still no traffic to posts only main page.

but my question is can i use permalink like this .,?

    /%postname%/%postname%.html/

    thanks for ur time.

Never tried it but I don’t see why not.

Just want to add regarding Google.

Google webmaster Tools and sitemap only helps google index your pages, ie, list your pages in the search results. The page rank of those pages that are indexed then depend on external links to each page individually. If those pages have low page ranks then obviously it won’t receive much traffic.
