# Permalink Nightmare

 * Trying to set my links to page name instead of the default. Changed it in Permalinks
   section.
 *  My .htaccess file says
 * # BEGIN WordPress
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteRule
   ^index\.php$ – [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}!-
   d RewriteRule . /index.php [L] </IfModule>
 * # END WordPress
 * I’ve tried many different variations of the above and nothing works.
    Hosting(
   Rackspace) says mod_rewrite enabled and keep saying it’s on my side. I’ve looked
   in the database tables for some sort of clue etc.
 *  I am literally tearing my hair out.
 * Any help would be appreciated.

 * You did not say what the problem actually is. Try deleting .htaccess, then go
   to Settings->Permalinks and save.
