Permalink Kills Site Root

I’ve been looking at SEO so decided to change the permalink structure of my blog to Semi-Pretty so that it didn’t require a mod_rewrite.

When I do this, navigating to the root URL http://blog.baby-green.co.uk/ no longer serves up the page. You have to go to http://blog.baby-green.co.uk/index.php in order to get anything.

The Semi-Pretty permalinks are working fine thtough.
