# Permalink issues

 * Hi!
 * All of a sudden permalink structure %postname% is not working anymore. It adds
   an unwanted question mark at the start of page slug. Example the url should be
   [https://www.site.com/page/](https://www.site.com/page/) but it is changed to
   [https://www.site.com/?page/](https://www.site.com/?page/) and it causes a redirection
   to the home page.
 * If I disable pretty permalink and let it be site.com/?page=1234 it works normally.
   There is no changes in .htaccess and it is same as before. I tried with no plugins
   and with Twenty nineteen theme but problem still exists.

 * If the default setting works, then try reading [Using_Permalinks ](http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks)
   before setting a custom permalink structure again.
