# Permalink incorrect?

 * Hi. I just tried this out on several different directories FTP’d to my wp-content/
   uploads directory.
 * The images are registered nicely except for one thing. The permalink.
 * e.g. [http://mysite.com/wp/imagefile.jpg](http://mysite.com/wp/imagefile.jpg)
   should be [http://mysite.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/imagefile.jpg](http://mysite.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/imagefile.jpg)
 * The permalink is also the attachment page URL. Of course none of these registered
   images are actually attached to posts, so organizing them is sort of a hideous
   process….I was hoping to just access the attachment pages…
 * What am I missing?
 * I hope I’m wrong. (that happens quite often!)

 * Hi Greg,
 * ’Media from FTP’ does not have the complex task to derive the permalink.
    It 
   is using the [get_attachment_link](http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_attachment_link).
 * May be the problem of the permanent link of your site.
