# Permalink Help Please!

 * At the moment my permalinks are as default. (www.domain.com/blog/?p=16)
    I want
   them to be as simple as possible: [http://www.domain.com/blog/link-name-here](http://www.domain.com/blog/link-name-here)
 * However when I change them in the Permalinks Options and test it, I get a ‘Page
   Cannot Be Displayed’ when I click on the link. All it says is “You should update
   your .htaccess now”.
 * I’ve looked in the help section but I don’t really understand how to fix this,
   can anyone try to explain please?

 * OK I have found my .htaccess file and can edit it, but I have no idea what to
   put in it?
