# Permalink Error

 * When I try to change the style of my permalinks I get this error:

 * Internal Server Error
 * The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to
   complete your request.
 * Please contact the server administrator, [name@email.com](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/permalink-error-1/name@email.com?output_format=md)
   and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done
   that may have caused the error.
 * More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
    
   Apache/2.0.52 (CentOS) Server at [http://www.website.com](http://www.website.com)
   Port 80

 * I chmodded my .htaccess file to 666, what else can i do to resolve this?

 * The only thing I can think of is to set your htaccess to 777 temporarily make
   the change then set it back to 666.
