# Permalink Changes

 * I’d like to change the structure of my permalinks (the gentlemen who helped me
   set up my blog made them rather messy) — however, I’m concerned that if someone
   attempts to click on one of my old permalinks they’ll be greeted with a 404.
 * I’ve fiddled around on a test site, and from what I can tell entering the old
   permalink will simply redirect to the new one. I was just hoping somebody here
   could confirm if that is correct, as I don’t want to make the change to my real
   blog until I know for sure.

 * Anybody have any idea? I don’t want to make the change if it’s going to mess 
   up all my existing links in.

 * do a permament redirect in your .htaccess file:
 * Redirect permanent /old/url/something.whatever [http://yoursite/newurl](http://yoursite/newurl)
 * should fix it.

 * would I have to do this for every single link?
