# Permalink changed, then changed back, now infinite loop!

 * Hi all,
 * I was deciding on the permalink name for a page and when I went to edit it, it
   redirected to the new one perfectly.
 * Then, as is my habit, I changed my mind and wanted to use the original permalink
   so I changed it back. Unfortunately now it goes into a kind of infinite loop 
   and puts up an error message.
 * How do I remove the original redirect for this and just have the page where I
   want it? Is it somewhere in the database or somewhere else?
 * I had noticed it before when I was doing a test post in a category and if I deleted
   a post and then later that day or month (depending on the permalink structure)
   the permalink would be say [http://www.mysite.com/2012/1/test-2](http://www.mysite.com/2012/1/test-2)
   rather than [http://www.mysite.com/2012/test](http://www.mysite.com/2012/test)
 * How is this resolved, does anyone know?

 * Go to your myPHPadmin panel
 * Go to your wordpress database
 * Go to wp_redirect_items
 * Browse and delete whatever you don’t want!

 * You missed a step – backup your database before deleting **anything**.
