# Permalink change

 * My wordpress site has around 2500 posts, and I want change from the Default to
   something like %day%/%postname%
    for better SERP results. Is there anyway I can
   do this so it only affects the new posts in the future? Google has all my old
   posts indexed, so I don’t want to end up losing a lot of old posts and screwing
   up my search engine results. What can I do?

 * The old posts, using the default permalink style (`?p=10`), should still be reachable
   via the old urls.
 * _I’ll preface this with “To the best of my knowledge:”_
    Going from default permalinks
   to something else is the easy one. It gets much more complicated from one non-
   default style to another!
