Title: permalink change while saving Last modified: January 10, 2018 --- # permalink change while saving * [thomas1910](https://wordpress.org/support/users/thomas1910/) * (@thomas1910) * [8 years, 4 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/permalink-change-while-saving/) * Hello, change my permalink structure to “pagetitle”. * Set my page title to “480006” it sets the permalink to “480006-2”. * Change page title to something else and try to change the permalink to “480006” but by saving the page it changed the permalink back to “480006-2”. Clear my database from all revisions did not help too. Then I create a new page with page title “Test” and change permalink to “480006”. On saving the page the permalink changed back to “480006-2”. Strange! * I looked at the table “wp_posts” with phpmyadmin and changed field value for “ post_name” from “480006-2” back to “480006”. When I than open the page for editing in WordPress backend the permalink shows again “480006-2” ! In phpmyadmin the field value for “post_name” is still “480006”. * So, the permalink value shown in backend must be changed by WordPress as it is not the value from the databese table. If I use e.g. “a480006” or “480006a” it workes. * Is there a way to change that, so I can only use numbers as permalink? * My installation is on an local development server. But if it is necessary I can transfer it online and give you access.
