# Permalink & author changes on save

 * Hi,
 * I’m working on someone’s site that uses VC as a page editor. I think this is 
   relevant.
 * On saving a page I’m currently working on, the permalink changes to something
   completely different and the author changes. I deleted the user that it was changing
   it to, but it still happens.
 * Has anyone else experienced this? I’ve used WP for years and never had this happen.

 * I haven’t seen that happen before. What I’d try to do find out what’s causing
   it is temporarily deactivate all plugins and see if it stops doing that. If so,
   start enabling them one by one until it starts happening again.

 * I ended up deleting the page completely and starting again. So far it seems ok.
