# Permalink and internal server error

 * When i save changes for the users ultra permalink tab i get an internal server
   error? I check my .htaccess file and it has changed, so i change my .htaccess
   file back and the website is back working.
 * My wordpress permalink settings are set on post name e.g. [http://www.test.co.uk/sample-post/](http://www.test.co.uk/sample-post/)
 * Any idea why i get this error?

 * Thanks for your post.
 * UU doesn’t touch the “.htaccess” at all.
 * I just installed a fresh WP and tried to reproduce the issue. Everything worked
   fine with or without .htaccess file.
 * Could you please provide more information?
