# Permalink and basic authorisation

 * Hi,
 * I wanted to secure the wp-admin and added basic authentication. This works fine
   until I’ve setup permalink. It seems that the standard rewrite rules doesn’t 
   understand basic authentication (and the http 401 code) and rewrite any wp-admin
   request to the server root.
    Which rewriterule should I add in order that wp-
   admin requests will end in the classic basic authentication (popup) and I can
   access wp-admin?
