Support » Plugin: Ginger - EU Cookie Law » Perhaps not compatible to GDPR

  • The plugin itself is quite perfect und does what it is supposed to do, BUT …
… the plugin logs the complete IP-adress of the visitor, the date of the visit, the visited page and the cookie-choice the user made. I don’t think that this is allowed by the GDPR, so european customer should possibly be careful using this plugin, or am I completely wrong?

    Hello there ,

wouldn´t it be easy to obfuscate the data, so it complies with the GDPR 😛

    Thanks

As far as I know, we should store the users consent about cookies but where does Ginger store it?

    Plugin Author webgrafia

The GDPR require to keep the reference of user acceptance.
How can I get it without storing ip addresses?
BTW in last release this log could be disabled.
