    On a quad core i7 iMac opening a web page with the Ditty Posts ticker on ramps up CPU usage to a reported 50% – 150%. This happens in Safari, Firefox and Chrome.

    This results in jerky scrolling (especially in Safari).

    If I leave it for a minute or so it eventually settles down to about 50% CPU usage.

    Is this normal?
