Support » Plugin: Google Website Translator » Perfectly adequate for small stuff

  • I used Google Website Translator (GWT) for English to Spanish translations and found it did an adequate job of translating short phrases and sentences. It did a poor job for longer paragraphs. I guess Google uses different technologies for their GWT (used by Prisna) than the translate.google.com web page. The web page does a superior job on longer paragraphs than GWT. All translations were reviewed by a Peruvian lady who has lived in the US for 37 years and has a professional medical background.

    Greetings,

since you’re not providing a link, and taking note of the fact that the translations have been reviewed by a professional medical person, it leads to believe the long paragraphs are medical related. Which is not hard to understand why those translations aren’t good enough.

This plugin uses the free Google Translate widget as any other free translation plugin, feel free to try them out. This is the translation tool Google provides, for free.

If you require a professional technical specific translation for your website, then you should hire a professional translator, and probably spend a few thousand dollars.

    Regards
