Support » Plugin: Skysa App Bar Integration » Perfect With One Exception

  • It works flawlessly and so do its related plugins. So why am I decucting a star? Because to be able to customize it so it blends into my site, I needed an account at skysa.com. I’ve noticed that skysa.com polls the site every couple of minutes. That means I have to put something in place to determine what data is being transferred and notify our users that for the moment, we cannot determine what data is being collected. If that isn’t enough to trigger my paranoia, when I looked up the domain, skysa.com, I ascertained it is an anonymous domain registration. In addition to not having a handle on what data their site is collecting from mine, I don’t know who is collecting it. At this point, I’m not certain if I will keep it.

I would gladly have paid something to get a customizable bar that kept everything on my site.

Data sent back to Skysa’s temp server by default periodically is primarily non-identifying statistics information. This is part of our usage tracking that allows you to see bar and app analytics. When member integration is enabled, a user’s name and avatar URL will be temporarily cached on our server to allow apps such as Instant Messaging and the Chat Room to work properly. Please check out our privacy policy for more details on how those interactive apps protect user’s privacy.

Thank you for bringing up the point regarding our domain. It does look like privacy was enabled on that domain from when it was first setup. We have removed it, so people can now look up our business information on the domain.
