    Hi There-

I just tested my pending applications on my site and with my test my dummy account showed up in pending applications but it also showed up under users in my user accounts. How do I stop this? I don’t want people to automatically become users. I was using pending applications in the beginning as a gatekeeper from unwanted spam members. Now they already become members without my approval!

BuddyPress Pending Activations doesn’t prevent users from creating an account or logging in. This plugin extends functionality of the BuddyPress plugin.

‘BuddyPress’ prevents inactive users from logging in until their account has been activated.

My plugin, ‘BuddyPress Pending Activations,’ only allows you to manage users whose account is still in the pending state – activating the account for the user, resending the BuddyPress activation email, or deleting the user.

If you’re having a problem with the BuddyPress functionality, you’ll need to talk to that developer — http://buddypress.org/support/

That is not what I meant. I have used the plugin before. My test user was still in a pending activation state, however, a user was automatically created even though I did not send myself an activation code.

I had this plugin installed since the get go and it worked that way. A new user would register. I would go in and “authorize them” by sending them the activation code. The user did not automatically get a user ID created in my users database until they actually used the activation code. Now they get a user ID created in my database regardless of whether or not they use the activation code.

Does it not work that way anymore?

    Hello,

BuddyPress has always created a user account when a user signs up immediately after registering, even before the account is activated. There is simply a ‘flag’ in the database indicating that the user hasn’t activated their account yet. If you try logging in with a user that is in the pending state, the login should fail.

Again, the functionality you are referring to has nothing to do with the BuddyPress Pending Activations plugin. If the user account creation isn’t working the way you expect it to, you should get in touch with the BuddyPress developer.

    Hello,

I’m having issues with the user still been able to log in even though the user is still in pending state. The login its not failing.

    Any help is appreciate it.

    Thank you.!

    Hello @hectorius,

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to help you out with this. BuddyPress Pending Activations has no control over the login functionality implemented by BuddyPress. You’ll need to contact the BuddyPress developers about this problem.

Thank you for you quick reply! Will do have a good one! 🙂

I installed the plugin, but cant see its settings or some control panel sort anywhere. Please help me manage the options or whatever. Cant see no options in Users list also.

There currently isn’t any settings for the plugin. You can manage the BuddyPress pending activations by going to Settings>BuddyPress under the ‘Pending Activations’ tab.
