[Resolved] PDF's from uploads folder won't show

  • Hi there,

Whenever I embed a pdf, this message appears on the page: Sorry, we were unable at find the document at the original source…etc. There is a link to click to try to download the original content. When clicking it, the pdf loads.

I am using a local install of wordpress, the absolute URL to the pdf is

    http://localhost/wp/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/nameofpdf.pdf

which is what I am using between the [embed][/embed] tags.

I am sure there is a simple solution or maybe I am using the URL wrong. What can I do to make the pdf load the first time, without having to click on the ‘download original content’ link?

    Thanks in advance.

Google can’t retrieve the PDF from your local computer to convert into images. The PDF file has to be hosted online and has to be accessible by Google.
