 * I am continually sent posters etc in PDF format. When I try to add media, they
   are not accepted for insert to a page. I have tried to paste them after converting
   the PDF to a Word.doc but nothing seems to work. Will someone please explain 
   what is wrong and if there is a work-around please??

 * When you say “not accepted”, what do you mean?
 * Is there an error message when you attempt it?
 * Perhaps the words “http error” in red text?
 * What’s the average filesize of the PDFs? Have you tried uploading a small one
   to see if that works?
 * Does this also happen with images?

 * Hi Jason,
 * Thanks for replying, much appreciated. There are no error messages and the problem
   happens with everything, text and pictures, it it’s in PDF when I go to upload
   media, select the file which loads alright but when I try to install to page,
   it won’t have it.

 * Switch on [PHP debugging](https://codex.wordpress.org/Debugging_in_WordPress)
   and try again – any error now?
 * Deactivate all plugins. Try again. Better? If so, narrow down which plugin’s 
   at fault.
 * Switch to the default theme. Try again. Better? If so, ask the theme author for
   support.
 * Reinstall WordPress via Dashboard > Updated. Better?
