• Hi. I made a new post from a PDF thanks to help received here. However, this new post won’t appear in the list of other, older posts in this category (a menu item on the home page bar). When I click on the category in the menu, I see all the old posts but not this new one of a PDF. And at the Edit Page you can see that its category is clearly ticked. Any way to get its title to show up in its category?

How did you make a post from a pdf?

What is the URL of your site and what is URL of the pdf post?

I made a post of a PDF via Add Media after adding a plugin, Google something. Our site is progress.org. In the top menu bar in Content in News in Geonomist none of those listed are the PDF ones. Thanks.

I’m trying to get a handle on how this area of the site is built.

I think I’ve got it: the page: http://www.progress.org/the-geonomist/ the back issue list contains a list of the posts in the the-geonomist category. This list is generated by the WP Category Post List plugin. The new pdf posts should be in this list as they are in the same “the-geonomist” category as the other posts in the list.

Does the Category archive at http://www.progress.org/category/the-geonomist/ contain the posts that are missing from the list?

You appear to be using WP Super Cache, so perhaps the reason for the new posts to not appear on that page is due to a cached version being served? To check, can you go into Admin & then into settings => WP Super Cache. Then empty the cache to ensure that a fresh copy of the page is served. Does it look any better once that is done?

Hi, and thanks. Last night the most recent uploads of back issues would not show up. Today they do! I guess they needed more time and I got impatient. There are two minor remaining issues, tho’.

One, the list at http://www.progress.org/the-geonomist/ at the bottom when you click on Read More than the new list you’re given on a new page is all out of order (and the fonts are different) http://www.progress.org/category/the-geonomist/. Any way to keep them in the same order? (chronological) Why does it add the word “category” to the URL and mess things up?

The other thing is you have to click on a PDF back issue link three times before you finally get to see it. Anyway to click once and go straight to it?

    Thanks

the page with just the titles appear to be a WordPress’page’ which uses the shortcode from the WP Category Post List plugin to get the list of items in the category. The page you are sent to on pressing ‘read more’ is a category archive which is defined in one of the theme templates. Normally you would expect to see a category archive in chronological order so you will probably need to post on the support forum for your theme at http://wordpress.org/support/theme/clear-line to find out the best way to display the category archive in the way you want it to display. The styling will be different each view has its own classes and CSS.
