It’s kinda hilarious how the Developer Company “Inpsyde GmbH” (now renamed, i wonder why: “Syde GmbH”) for the german “Paypal Plus for Woocommerce” now does the official Paypal for Woocommerce.

It’s hilarious because these people already made a complete unstable mess with their Paypal Plus Plugin back then and now they do the same with this one…

I was so fed up that I reactivated the build in Paypal gateway for our shop.

Why were these people hired when they previously already messed up? It’s beyond my imagination!

Also what was wrong with the old default Paypal Gateway, it worked like a charm, while this one, which replaced the very well and never breaking Gateway with this mess? Constant Plugin conflicts, random updates make it unusable etc

Automatic should have watched more at that company history and yes their Paypal Plus Plugin was abandoned at some point

I mention that other Plugin here because same Dev Company, same Shitty practices, was also super unstable until our company threw it out

Btw: There is an option the re-enable the old Paypal, you should search for it when you don’t want to use this Plugin >w0

    Hello @petschko

I’d like to respond to some of your concerns, at least to the extent I can.

I wasn’t involved when the PayPal Plus plugin, so I can’t speak to how that project was handled. I got your overall point, but on the other hand comparing PayPal Plus to the current PayPal Payments plugin doesn’t make much sense. It’s a completely different product with a different codebase, architecture, and as you might assume different people working on it.

The old built-in PayPal gateway may have worked well for your setup, but it lacked many modern features like Smart Buttons, subscriptions, tokenization, Pay Later, and hosted fields. These aren’t just optional extras, they’re important for compliance, user experience, and the broader PayPal ecosystem. Naturally, the more complex the product, the more things can go wrong. But I’m sure you understand that dynamic well.

Regarding plugin conflicts or unstable updates, if there are any recent, widely spread conflicts that you’re aware of, feel free to share details. I’d be happy to investigate further or provide insight. It’s difficult for me to respond meaningfully to a general criticism. But still, I believe most issues can be resolved, and I don’t recall us ignoring any serious ones. I understand the frustration when things break, but I’d still suggest reaching out directly, many problems can be resolved quickly once identified.

    Kind Regards,
    Krystian
