Paypal payments stopped working

Everything was fine and we’ve been taking Paypal payments through Forminator for over a year, but sometime in March it stopped working. I hadn’t made any changes to the forms or their pages. All of our forms with payments give the error “Payment failed, please try again!” I’ve tried both being logged into Paypal and paying with a card. The API calls show up in PayPal developer with an error icon but it doesn’t give me any details.

I tried reentering the Paypal integration info. I’ve updated the Forminator plugin more than once since we started having this issue. I even tried removing and reinstalling the Forminator plugin entirely. All forms with Paypal are still failing and I’m out of ideas.

Thank you for contacting us.

Sorry to hear you are having this trouble. Were there any additional changes made to your site like plugin install/updates, theme changes prior to this issue happening?

To better assist you, could you please set the PayPal test form on the page you provided to sandbox mode instead of live so that we can make a test submission?

Also, what PHP version are you currently running on your site?

Hi, thank you for responding. I hadn’t made any changes to the site. I also tried disabling all the other plugins, no good.

I’ve changed the form on the test page to sandbox mode.

Hi @heatherby,

Thanks for changing that, I had a look at your site and can see the issue but unfortunately there’s nothing in the browser console that could tell us what’s going on or point us in right direction.

Could you go to Forminator > Forms, click on Gear icon next to your form and download an export of it.
Upload the file to any file sharing service like GDrive or DropBox and share the download link here so we could test it further on our end.

Could you please try this test?

– Install the HTTP log plugin
https://wordpress.org/plugins/log-http-requests/
– Try to replicate the issue
– Check on the log status what is the HTTP response
– Disable the HTTP plugin.

Let us know what is the HTTP response that you are getting.

Sorry for the delay here,

Can you please try this?

– Make sure to have a full backup, download this file:

– Replace the wp-content > plugins > forminator/library/gateways/class-paypal-express.php

Check if the issue is gone.

There is a fix coming soon for this problem, it will be available in 1.14.12
