I also have this issue on one website, I’m assuming its permissions on PayPal side of things, and how your PayPal account is set up.

Hello @outrankjames and @fads79
I have just set up my testing site to host simple products in Australia (copying fads79’s setup) and I have no issue showing the pay later buttons on my checkout page.
So there are 2 options (according to the standard setup) that can avoid the buttons to show:
1) You can enable the pay later option in the options page of our plugin here: WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > PayPal / Manage > Checkout –> Enable buttons on Checkout –> active the check box “Enable on Checkout”.
2) On this same page you can hide payment options in the text field “Disable funding sources”. Make sure that “Pay Later” is not entered here.So these are pretty standard checks, but I wanted to make sure this was at least verified before we continue to any other possible causes.
Kind regards,
JoostHi Joost,
Thanks for the quick response. I can confirm pay later in the options page of the plugin is “Enable on Checkout” and the “Disable funding sources” box is empty. Still pay later not showing.

FranceHello @fads79
then the next question, what country are you in; does your country support this option?
The instructions per country can be found here: https://developer.paypal.com/docs/business/pay-later/us/
Notice this mention: The Pay Later button is available only to merchants in the US and a limited number of international countries. We are working on expanding the Pay Later button availability to merchants in additional countries that cater to US buyers. Please let me know if you find the cause of this situation.
Kind regards,
JoostHi Joost,
I’m in Australia (AU) and PayPal support the Pay Later option. I followed the instruction, pay later still missing.Hello @fads79
Ok, then 2 more questions:
1) is your merchant (PayPal) account also located in Australia?
2) What are the product types being sold (virtual, downloadable products will not show the option)? Also, keep in mind that the price needs to be above 30 and below 1500 dollars in order to get the Pay Later option.
Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.
Kind regards,
JoostHi Joost,
My PayPal merchant account is located in Australia and I’m selling physical products. Check my website https://fadshobbies.com/ .
Kind Regards,
FranceHello @fads79
Could you try testing this when you have the “Storefront” theme activated? (just ruling out the theme to cause this).
Are you physically in Australia as well? This would make a difference as well. I just tested in my own environment with an Australian merchant account, acting as an Australian customer, also using an Australian VPN and I did get the Pay Later option shown.
If this all is set and tested correctly, the only option left I can think of is that there might be an issue with your PayPal merchant account and can only advise you to get in contact with PayPal merchant support.
Let me know if you get to a solution on this.
Kind regards,
JoostHello Joost,
To my surprise, I now have “Pay Later” on the Checkout Page, but not on the Single Product Page. Didn’t change anything.
Regards,
FranceHello @fads79
you should be able to add it to the product page as well by activating the check box “Enable buttons on Single Product” in the PayPal Payment admin page (WooCommerce > Settings > PayPal).
Hope you get it working as you intended with this instruction.
Kind regards,
JoostHi Joost,
Have done it, all working now. Thanks for your help.
Best Regards,
FranceGood to hear that @fads79
