Hi @hamadgill
Thanks for the suggestion.
For the time being, PayPal Payments provides the Pay Later messaging only on the single product, Cart, and Checkout pages.
But the team is looking into extending the availability of the messaging to more locations, including the main shop and category pages.
I can’t put a date on it yet, but this is likely to be implemented sometime in Q1.
Kind regards,
Niklas
Any updates? It’s been past Q1, and The messaging hasn’t been extended to the main shop or category pages yet.
Hi @hamadgill
Sorry, the plans changed a little bit since my last message.
The new Pay Later messaging locations will be implemented together with a brand new feature PayPal has been working on that will simplify the Pay Later messaging configuration.
This feature is quite a significant upgrade and requires more time before it becomes available. I prefer not to provide any more estimates as there are a few other features that are higher on the priority list.
But in the meantime, I created a small plugin for you that inserts the Pay Later messaging at the top of your shop & categories pages. You can download it from here and install it like a regular plugin. Once this is active, the messaging should automatically appear on the previously mentioned pages.
This plugin is fairly simple and it adds no new settings. So if you want to change banner styling, you must modify the style
attributes after line 105 in the plugin file, e.g. via the Plugin File Editor. Available options have been commented on or can be found in the PayPal docs here.
I hope this helps!
Kind regards,
Niklas
Hello, thanks for the reply, I tried the plugin, but it didn’t seem to add anything; I tried different locations, the United States and other countries, cleared cache … etc.; nothing showed up; but while checking, I also noticed the pay-in four buttons don’t show anymore. Before, there used to be two small buttons, one for PayPal and one for payment in 4. Now, it shows one PayPal button on the product, cart and checkout page.
Hi @hamadgill
This small plugin takes the client ID configured in PayPal Payments to display the messaging on the shop and categories pages. This could potentially impact the availability of the buttons on the Mini Cart on these pages.
But right now, it looks like the Pay Later button is not displaying on your site because it is disabled in the Pay Later settings tab.
It would help us if you could share with us a copy of your system report from here. Please include a link to this thread when opening a ticket on WooCommerce.com.
Thanks!
Kind regards,
Niklas
