  • I also noticed that the PayPal button disappeared from my site today. I updated to version 1.6.18 of the Events Made Easy plug-in but the button is still missing. Checked settings and everything appears okay. Can you please provide some troubleshooting assistance? Thank you.

Ok, I just released 1.6.19 which should fix this. Can you test once updated?

Hi there – updated to 1.6.19 but I’m afraid still no Paypal button 🙁

This is on the site for which I gave you admin log-in if you want to check anything

Thanks for your ongoing support 🙂

Sorry, but I received no email …
    Can you resend it?

Just resent – double checked the email address it was definitely correct …!

Omg … I made a typo in my email (you shoul’ve received a bounce)
    It is (telenet, not telent):
    liedekef [at] telenet.be

Make sure to change the password and send it again please

LOL – no problem – well all do it 🙂

Email sent to correct address with updated password!

    Received. I checked your site:
    – price of the event was 0, so no point in showing a paypal button if nothing to pay.
    – I changed the price to 10, but: your paypal business id in the EME settings is empty too, so it is not possible to show a button.

Doh! I’m such an idiot. A Paypal account hadn’t been set up for FavershamSociety and previously I’d tested it via Paypal Sandbox using my own Paypal account and I overlooked the business ID when I changed it!

It’s now working OK on FavershamSociety – thanks!

However, I’ve cross-checked to make sure that everything is the same on TasteFaversham but still no Paypal button – would you mind looking at it for me (I’ve emailed you log-in details!)

    Side note:

Do you have a test-event? Also (and I’m not saying it will help, but it might) a temporary admin account might be useful.

@liedekef Don’t do that in these forums. I’m am 100% sure you mean well but please never ask for credentials on these forums.

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome#The_Bad_Stuff

Now for the why: The internet is a wonderful place full of very nice people and a few very bad ones. I’m sure everyone here is very nice however, by giving some ones keys to your house you are trusting they wont steal anything. Likewise the person who takes the keys is now responsible for the house FOREVER.

If something was to go wrong, then you the author may well legally become liable for damages, which they would not normally have been as their software is provided without warranty.

Please be aware that repeatedly asking for credentials will result in us asking you to repeatedly stop before escalating up to the plugins team.

@jan: ok, sorry. I did realize that things get complicated once I have a temp admin account (of course that is why I ask for a temp admin, and personally I believe the one giving out the keys is responsible 🙂 ), but sometimes things just go faster to solve then (because most of the time it is just a config issue …)
But I’ll take your advise and cease to ask for admin rights.

@kezzakkc: please revoke my admin on both sites immediately (also: your problem is fixed, you just didn’t update the plugin on that site yet)

Thanks Franky – once again, I missed something! Temporary admin accounts both removed in a couple of minutes 🙂 (p.s. I sent a donation to say thanks!!)
