Hi. I have a huge problem with Paypal IPN.

Into the website I use a plugin for donations call GiveWP which requires IPN setup into Paypal to point to its listener.

The problem is that for Paid Membership Pro, IPN notifications for membership recurring payments are sent to Give’s IPN listener and so monthly recurring orders are not registered on Paid Membership Pro. I can see this from Paypal IPN history.

    How to solve this issue?

    Thank you.

We are unfamiliar with GiveWP’s endpoint logic structure.

What you can do is point the IPN to PMPro and then pass the $_POST request to the GiveWP endpoint. That way one IPN can be used to hit both GiveWP and Paid Memberships Pro.

    Hi @fa1976itb

Speaking for GiveWP, this is really a limitation of PayPal because they only support ONE IPN. And if you plan to use PayPal Standard with both GiveWP and any other platform at all, then you’ll need multiple IPN’s.

So… the only workaround for that is Zapier. They have a really useful write-up on this.

Another piece of good news though is that GiveWP version 2.8 is coming up and it includes PayPal’s new Commerce platform which is a replacement for PayPal Standard. Once you switch to that in GiveWP then all your IPN worries will go away too. That should be out within the next few weeks.

    Thanks!

Thank you for weighing in @webdevmattcrom. Zapier would be our recommendation as well for the cleanest solution.

That’s great news regarding PayPal. We’ll be looking forward to it.

    Wishing you the best,

    Dear @webdevmattcrom

I saw GiveWP 2.8 is out now. Please can you confirm now Paypal IPN is not required anymore for the plugin to work?

    Thank you and best regards.

Hi @fa1976itb — thanks for following up. Unfortunately due to some hiccups on PayPal’s side we had to postpone our integration until GiveWP 2.9. That is still progressing nicely but it will be a at least a few more weeks.

    Thanks!
