    After latest updated I noticed that mandatory field – phone number is being left blank by many customers. Is there a switch to make sure customers leave a phone number during a review order checkout page?

    Hi @questionabout,

    I believe this is something related to your PayPal account settings. There is a setting available in PayPal Premier and Business accounts called “Contact Telephone Number”.

    You can find this by:

    1. Logging into your PayPal account.
    2. Click on “Profile” and choose “More Options”.
    3. Under “My Selling Tools”, click “Update” located next to “Website preferences”
    4. Scroll down and you’ll see the Contact Telephone Number.

    I’ve tested the issue, and I inserted my phone number during checkout, but the phone number was not added to the order information. It doesn’t appear to be an issue with PayPal

    @questionabout, so you’re using Express Checkout through the WooCommerce checkout page, and filling out a phone number there, but then the order that gets saved in WooCommerce doesn’t include a phone number?

    I use express checkout button on the product page, login to PayPal, redirect to checkout page where I input the phone number (it is mandatory) and after I “place the order” I do not see a phone number on the screen.

    Okay, so it’s not showing up on the thank you / receipt page? What about in the actual WC order details?

    Thank you page doesn’t have any shipping/billing info, it just shows the Product Info (title, price, shipping, payment method)
    & basic info like order number, date, total & payment method.
    Other payment methods like Payments Pro (dodirectpayment) work fine and number shows up

    Okay, well that’s strange too then. The thank you page should have the billing info, shipping info, etc. displayed for review. That’s where it would also provide shipping and tax calculations as well.

    Are you able to temporarily switch to one of the basic Twenty themes to see if that issues goes away? I’m curious if you have a theme conflict. If you can, it would also be good to disable other plugins temporarily just to be sure there isn’t a plugin conflict. If it does work correctly that way, then you could re-activate one-by-one until the problem comes back to find the culprit. At that point we could see if there’s something we can do to fix it or if it’s something in the 3rd party plugin.

    If you don’t have any theme or plugin conflicts then we’ll need to work more directly with you on troubleshooting this. For that please submit a ticket here.

    I rolled back to 1.4.2 version and phone number does show up there, so it is something to do with newer version of the plugin.

    Did you try the suggestion given by Andrew? Switching to basic theme did help? If that didn’t work then We definitely need to take a look at your site.
