Hi there.

New to woocommerce. I made a payment on the live system, and it was placed on hold inside PayPal for 7 days because my account is new. Does woocommerce run a cron or schedule to check the status? and will it then automatically update the order status once paypal releases the money?

If not, is there a tool or fix I need to add to automatically resolve this?

Hi @vermaakpetrus,

The communication happens the other way round. PayPal will use IPN messages to notify WooCommerce whether a payment has been successful or not, from there WooCommerce will update the order status as appropriate.

In your case, you will want to check whether you have correctly configured the PayPal IPN as explained here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/paypal-standard/#paypal-ipn-url
