    We’re getting the following “error” but before contacting PayPal, I wanted to state that there does not appear to be any problems in the JSON below. Am I missing something? Thanks….Dave!

    Greetings!

    I am trying to connect my PayPal account to the GiveWP plugin for WordPress. I have gone through the onboarding process to connect my account, but when I finish I’m given the following message from GiveWP:
    PayPal merchant status check API request response is:
    {“merchant_id”:”XXXXXXXX”,”tracking_id”:”nesa@childrens-lifeline.org”,”products”:[{“name”:”PPCP_CUSTOM”,”vetting_status”:”SUBSCRIBED”,”capabilities”:[“AMEX_OPTBLUE”,”CARD_PROCESSING_VIRTUAL_TERMINAL”,”COMMERCIAL_ENTITY”,”CUSTOM_CARD_PROCESSING”,”DEBIT_CARD_SWITCH”,”FRAUD_TOOL_ACCESS”]},{“name”:”PPCP_STANDARD”,”vetting_status”:”SUBSCRIBED”,”capabilities”:[“ALT_PAY_PROCESSING”,”PAYPAL_CREDIT_PROCESSING”,”RECEIVE_MONEY”,”SEND_MONEY”,”STANDARD_CARD_PROCESSING”,”VENMO_PAY_PROCESSING”,”WITHDRAW_MONEY”]}],”capabilities”:[{“name”:”AMEX_OPTBLUE”,”status”:”ACTIVE”},{“name”:”CARD_PROCESSING_VIRTUAL_TERMINAL”,”status”:”ACTIVE”,”limits”:[{“type”:”GENERAL”}]},{“name”:”COMMERCIAL_ENTITY”,”status”:”ACTIVE”},{“name”:”CUSTOM_CARD_PROCESSING”,”status”:”ACTIVE”,”limits”:[{“type”:”GENERAL”}]},{“name”:”DEBIT_CARD_SWITCH”,”status”:”ACTIVE”},{“name”:”FRAUD_TOOL_ACCESS”,”status”:”ACTIVE”},{“name”:”ALT_PAY_PROCESSING”,”status”:”ACTIVE”},{“name”:”PAYPAL_CREDIT_PROCESSING”,”status”:”ACTIVE”},{“name”:”RECEIVE_MONEY”,”status”:”ACTIVE”},{“name”:”SEND_MONEY”,”status”:”ACTIVE”},{“name”:”STANDARD_CARD_PROCESSING”,”status”:”ACTIVE”},{“name”:”VENMO_PAY_PROCESSING”,”status”:”ACTIVE”},{“name”:”WITHDRAW_MONEY”,”status”:”ACTIVE”}],”payments_receivable”:true}
    There was a problem with the status check for your account. Please try disconnecting and connecting again. If the problem persists, please contact support.

    Hi @dstonehill!

    Alas, there are a lot of pieces that must come together on the PayPal account side of thing for everything to work properly. We worked a lot with PayPal to do as much as we can on our end, but most scenarios end up with something that needs to happen on Paypal’s end to get an account properly set up. You should have a full instruction on how to contact them and what to say (which is where I assume you got that output from). We output that data to best equip you and PayPal to determine what’s missing within the account and get it resolved.

    To be clear, it’s not that there would necessarily be an error in that specific output. We were told to check for specific pieces of information to exist within that JSON from PayPal. In the case that something is missing, that means there’s an issue with the account itself. In other words, it won’t be obvious what’s wrong by looking at that JSON.

    Hope this helps!
