 * Hi,
 * I’ve installed StageShow version 2.3.2. Until now I’ve been unable to complete
   a full test cycle:
    I’ve created a few sandbox vendors and filled their details
   in StageShow setting page (Merchant ID, API Details and vendor email). I tried
   multiple vendors. I get 2 different kind of errors when I click the ‘checkout’
   button, depending on my test vendors:
 * Error type 1:
    We cannot process this transaction because there is a problem
   with the PayPal email address supplied by the seller. Please contact the seller
   to resolve the problem. If this payment is for an eBay listing, you can contact
   the seller via the “Ask Seller a Question” link on the listing page. When you
   have the correct email address, payment can be made at [http://www.paypal.com](http://www.paypal.com).
 * Error type 2:
    We cannot process this transaction because this PayPal account
   has been closed. For more information, please contact the seller.
 * I can’t tell the difference between the 2 test vendors. They are ‘Business’ accounts.
   They look quite straightforward.
 * Any thoughts?
 * Thanks in advance.

 * Hi again,
 * I have realised the url that is triggered by the checkout button is [https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr](https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr)
 * Should it not be [https://www](https://www).**sandbox**.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr,
   knowing that I have selected ‘sandbox’ in the paypal options?
 * Thanks.

 * I have to admit that I haven’t used the PayPal Sandbox with StageShow for months.
   Since StageShow included its’ own integrated shopping trolley I found there is
   little need for it, and I now always test with a live PayPal account, and then
   refund the transaction.
 * It is likely that support for the Sandbox by StageShow will be removed in the
   not too distant future.
 * Having said that, you are quite right there is a bug, and the PayPal URL in Sandbox
   mode is incorrect. I’ve updated my master copy, and a fix will be in the next
   update.

 * Thanks Malcom.
 * I’m quite new to the entire Paypal / shopping cart experience. May be a little
   off topic, but I’m not sure I get how to make a full test cycle without sandbox
   accounts:
    Do you use live accounts for both vendor and buyer, making real transaction?
   Do you not pay fees to Paypal? From the buyer side, you need to use a real payment
   card I guess… I’m going to google this anyway, but your advice is welcome. Thanks
   again.

 * I use a “real” PayPal account for the vendor (i.e. for the settings in StageShow)
   and then make a purchase using a credit card. Once made, I refund the payment
   by logging in to my PayPal account. Yes, PayPal will charge a fee, but the variable
   part of the fee is refunded, leaving only the fixed part of the fee charged.

   You should only need to try this once, just to confirm that the IPN mechanism
   works correctly, so there is minimal cost. You can test most situations by opening
   the Box Office page, selecting the tickets, checking out and then closing the
   PayPal checkout page without making a payment. The “Pending” sale will be listed
   on your Sales admin page until it times-out, it just won’t have any purchaser
   details.

 * I too ran into this problem. I’d love to be able to test in sandbox mode, including
   the ‘sold out’ functionality. If you could tell me the fix then I can implement
   it in my own.
 * An additional problem is that having is that having set environment as Sandbox
   I don’t have the option to change it. It doesn’t offer me the pull-down options.
   It’s just there as text.

 * This problem was fixed in 2.3.3 (see changelog). Even with the fix I found the
   Sandbox difficult to test with which is why I don’t use it.
 * You can only change the environment when there are no shows configured.
 * Support for the Sandbox will be removed in the near future.
