    Is is possible to place paypal buttons in posts?

    The idea is to create a post on a page with an image in it and some text (this I can do), but I also wish to add a paypal button at the bottom of the post.

    How do I insert the code (ie. are there special tags, do I choose html or visual etc.)

    No. You’ll need to use the code that PaPal provides.

    do I choose html or visual

    Just go to the HTML view and paste it in.

    Be aware that if you later edit the post in visual mode, this sometimes breaks the code that was inserted in the HTML mode. My Youtube embedded videos always break if I go back in and edit a post.

    Thanks esmi and pregnancyloss for you help I will give it a go.

    Well the good news is that I got it to show up in the post the sad news is, it doesnt connect to paypal. I get the following message everytime.

    We were unable to decrypt the certificate id.

    Not sure if it’s paypal being funny with the button stuff I created or weather paypal cannot gather the info from within a post.

    Any ideas.

    Anybody had this happen to them??

    What’s the Paypal code/markup you’ve pasted in? As I understand it, Paypal can only collect data that has been provided by the button markup. It can’t pick up anything from the post itself.

    Hi esmi,

    this is the paypal code

    <form action=”” method=”post”>
    <input type=”hidden” name=”cmd” value=”_s-xclick”>
    <input type=”image” src=”” border=”0″ name=”submit” alt=”PayPal – The safer, easier way to pay online.”>
    <img alt=”” border=”0″ src=”” width=”1″ height=”1″>

    I am putting the code into a post (so that I can use posts as a seperater for each item forsale).

    The post will then reside in a shop category.

    When I put the code in the post, it appears as a button in the post, but when clicked paypal gives an error message back.

    Not sure if this is wordpress or paypal that is playing up.

    Right after a little test I think it is a wordpress fault.

    I have two buttons made (same details), one in a post the other in a text widget thing. (a widget for entering text).

    The widget one works fine the one in a post does not.

    Am I missing some tags within the post? or is it the fact that it will not work in post?s

    FYI peeps, this doesn’t work due to the form tags in a post, this was told to me by a paypal tech guy!

    If you need to put a button into a post then use the email link instead, this shouls work.

    Thanks to the people who took the time to reply…

    Jayce, can you say more about this. I having this same issue and not sure I get what you mean by ’email link instead’. Can you be more specific?
