    Hello,

Reliably passing the Shipping Name and Shipping Email to PayPal from woocommerce (and then from PayPal to Stamps.com) is still not working with PayPal and Advanced Card Processing.

Works without a hitch using PayPal Standard.

    PayPal Standard properly logs:

    Shipping Name

Full Address (sometimes it picks up multi-line addresses with apartments/ suites or “c/o” — other times it does not)

    Shipping Email

PayPal & Advanced Card Processing does not reliably and correctly log those items.

    Just tested again with:

    WooCommerce 7.6.1

    WordPress 6.2

    WooCommerce PayPal Payments 2.0.4

Have tested with plugins off and on, different php server versions, and more.

For me, this issue has been ongoing for awhile. Would like to use more recent (and supported) PayPal with Advanced Card Processing, but cannot do so.

I have directly contacted PayPal support about this, off and on, for over a year.

    They are not helpful.

They ask for logs, detailed screenshots, etc — then don’t get back to me for over a month, tell me that they need more logs, cannot replicate it, or that the issue will be fixed in the next update.

    That still hasn’t happened.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

    Hi @nncbei117

The Advanced Card Processing functionality cannot be directly compared to the old PayPal Standard integration as it worked quite differently on a technical level.

As mentioned in one of the linked threads, there are certain challenges with populating the PayPal order details for advanced card payments. The team is looking into providing a more consistent merchant experience for these types of payments. But from the plugin perspective, this is difficult to resolve as the limiting behavior is on PayPal’s end.

In the meantime, if accurate buyer shipping data is required for your PayPal orders, you could alternatively use the Standard Card Button. This feature is more limited than advanced card payments, but the buyer details should be consistently populated in the PayPal order.

There normally should not be any issues with passing the WooCommerce buyer data to PayPal for regular PayPal or Standard Card Button payments. If you have trouble with passing the details for regular PayPal payments as well, I suggest contacting the support team directly with a copy of your WooCommerce system report, so this can be investigated deeper.

    Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

Hi, Thanks for the response and info.

I directly contacted PayPal support multiple times, with no luck. They never told me that it couldn’t be done. Support just kept asking for more logs and examples, which I sent. After not hearing back from them for a week or 2, I would contact again — and they would ask for more logs and samples, since the others were too old.

Seems like Advanced Card Processing just isn’t going to consistently process the full Address and Shipping Details right now.

    Thanks anyway!
