    Hi,

Recently i realized that after an update, in December 2018, which was from version 3.4.5 for 3.5.3, the behavior for payments with “Boleto” (the brazilian solution for directly payments) has changed.

In the version 3.4.5, the orders just reduce stock after process the payment, that is right. But after update, the stock is reduce too early, as soon as “Boleto” is generated, when the order get the status of Hold on (Aguardando, in our translate). Making orders that never will be paid, reserve products in stock.

I know, this update bring the “Hold stock for X minutes”, i know that has so many discussion about this behavior, people think that is a expected behavior, but in our case, we don’t want. We want the stock reduced only if the payment is confirmed.

We tested here, it is not a conflict with plugins, not a theme intervention, is just after the update. I don’t see in the changelog, any words about that change, but in fact is a big change. We used to work in a way, but now we realized that is working in another way. I try to use “Hold stock for X minutes” blanked, that is a Pagar.me recomendation (Payment getaway that we use), and this is not working.

So, that behavior really changed? How can i back to the old behavior?
There are some reasons for de “Hold stock for X minutes” option not work? I have to hardcode to have this behavior back?

Thanks for the attention, you guys do a really nice job, just wanna an info about this case. Many thanks

  • Hi @rmachado1,

You should be able to disable this setting by leaving it blank in your store. Navigate to WP Admin → WooCommerce → Settings → Products Tab → Inventory.

In this screen is the setting for hold stock. Please blank it out and save. It should disable hold stock. If you are still having troubles after doing this you may want to look into flushing ALL caches you have access to. Things like CDNs or caching plugins like Cloudflare can prevent your changes from taking hold properly. Flushing your cache or asking your web host to flush it for you may help.

Please let me know if this works for you. Thanks!
