Payment Gateway Question

    I have been looking into using Give on a website I am building. I have a specific need with regards to the payment gateways. Can you please advise if any of the supported payment gateways (other than PayPal) have the following options or if the options are coming soon.
    1) I need to have recurring payments as an option
    2) I need to be able to request the donor to pay the merchant/gateway charges as part of their donation
    3) I need to be able to offer Direct Bank Transfer as an option for people who do not want to use credit cards

    Also do you have any plans to support Campaign Monitor as well as MailChimp?

    HI Ian,

    We don’t have any Gateways that meet each of those requirements. Here’s just some notes on that:

    1) WePay supports Bank Transfer payments and allows donors to pay the fees, but you have to redirect donors to the wepay website to finalize their donations, and it doesn’t have Recurring support.
    2) Stripe has an excellent ACH integration and supports Recurring, but not Recurring for ACH, and you can’t have donors pay the fees.

    As far as MailChimp is concerned, we just released Convert Kit recently, AWeber, and we also have Constant Contact. You can see them all here:

    Hi Matt,

    i was just checking as your site says that WeGive had recurring payments “Coming Soon” so I was not sure where that was in the development plan. Also my second question related to the popular alternative for MailChimp which is Campaign Monitor (https://www.campaignmonitor.com/)

    HI Ian,

    We do plan to support Recurring with WePay, it’s just not available quite yet.

    We don’t have plans for Campaign Monitor at the moment, but it could be done relatively easily. What do you see as the main benefits of Campaign Monitor over MailChimp or the others?
