    Hey Everyone,

I spun up a car club site with paidmembershippro. Everything seemed to work fine, however users are now seeing error when running through payments. I dont see really any logging describing the issue which is unfortunate.

invalid HTTP Response for POST request(METHOD=GetExpressCheckoutDetails&VERSION=72[…otherdata…]) to https://api-3t.paypa.com/nvp

The wordpress logs are clean, I checked a few articles on paidmembershippro and didnt see anything out of place.

Is there a log I can look at to help troubleshoot this? I also crossed check the github issues and didnt see anything that looked to fall in place with these errors.

The site is using a proxy connection from cloudflare to the webhost which is siteground.
    So far i have..
    Disabled cloudflare caching
    Disabled siteground caching
Purged caches from both locations and the issue seems to happen sporadically. Any advise?

  • We’re having the exact same issue on our site. It was working in the past and now it’s stopped working.

Seems like disabling all caching might have worked…

    Hello @magicman1223,

I am working on a new website and a I am getting the same thing 🙂 when tried to complete the purchase in production. Could you share more details for your solution? Is this something with the pluging’s cache or with the website cache? Is the website cache going to underperform with this?

If browser cache involved (I don’t believe so because I tested it out in incognito).

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

    Hi there,

I’m really sorry to hear about the issue you are facing. We are working on trying to replicate this issue on our testing environments to see if it’s site specific or a bug.

Any information that may help us figure out why this is happening is helpful. Thanks @magicman1223 for sharing the caching, here is a guide for using Caching and Paid Memberships Pro – https://www.paidmembershipspro.com/documentation/using-caching-plugins-paid-memberships-pro/

We recommend adding exclusions to cache for all Paid Memberships Pro generated pages.

@andrewza , I did follow the caching guide initially however even then things seemed to have issues. Finally I disabled cloudflare , and siteground caching for the entire site. I think things are ok, but the thing that sucks is if people hit this error there is not a single log file generated that I can see that, not one shows someone tried to get a membership, or that the setup failed. The only reason I knew this was a problem is members reached out to me. If you would like anyhelp tracking this down, or if i can provide any info from my install let me know would love to help.

@pep4are I disabled siteground, and cloudflare cdn caching. I do not know how to control browser cache to be honest.

Last night I tested my production site and everything was working :). IMO this was a sporadic thing :). Will keep writing in the thread with more details if I have again the problem.

Yea, how did you find out you were having an issue though? Did you see anything in the logs, or did you just notice manually testing? From what I saw people would see it, then it would be ok then a few hours later same problem. I personally am not confident its not happening and I am just not aware of it.

It was a manual test when I setup my production environment. Soon when users come to the platform will get a better sense about repetition of the behavior.
