I’m using the latest version of WordPress, have installed the plugin and setup new invoices. When I load the invoice, the top payment bar is empty. I have PayPal currently configured. I sent an email with the file to support and thought I’d try here as well.

    Hi Wes,

For what it’s worth I have not seen any email from you, so I’m not sure what you sent (or where you sent it)… but in any case this forum is the right place for support on the free plugin. 🙂

Regarding your issue, just to ask the obvious question first, what is the Status of your invoice? If it is in “Draft” status, no payment buttons will display on the top bar. For the payment buttons to appear the Invoice must either be “unpaid” or “overdue”. (When you send the invoice, it is automatically marked “unpaid” until it is paid, but you can also manually set the status yourself.)

    Let me know…

    Thanks,
    David

The payment option is selected and the invoice is in unpaid status. It is published.

So to dig more deeply. I have an invoice generating from Gravity Forms, using the appropriate plugin. It sets as draft mode. I then go in and update and publish. Oddly, a second update kicks off the payment button. Unsure of where the hangup is.

Thanks for that additional information, that sounds very odd indeed. May I ask, which version of Gravity Forms are you using? Are you using the latest version of our Sliced Invoices + Gravity Forms plugin (should be v1.09)? Also, by any chance are you using Gravity Flow is well?

Based on your answers I will try to re-create the same environment on my end, to see if I can reproduce the problem, and hopefully find a fix…

    Thanks,
    David

Always running latest versions of plugins. Only installed and tested on the day I posted this issue so not using a later version of the plugins.

I do not have GravityFlow installed.

    Hi Wes,

I was able to reproduce the issue, it was definitely a bug that crept in on our end. I have just released an update to our Sliced Invoices + Gravity Forms plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/sliced-invoices-gravity-forms/) which includes a fix for it. If you would please update that plugin to the new version (v1.10.0) it should resolve the issue for you.

    Best,
    David

Excellent. It does look like everything is working properly now. The new features you’ve included are nice as well. Do you have any plans to offer a discount code system for this?

Basically if someone enters a code on the Gravity Form that is checked against available codes and the discount applied during the creation of the invoice? I see that I can discount after the fact, but if I want to have this send an invoice automatically, it would be great to be able to have a discount code system that would work in the flow.

Great! Glad to hear that issue is fixed, and I’ll go ahead and mark this thread as resolved.

Coincidentally yes, a discount code extension is on my personal to-do list, although surprisingly nobody has submitted it to our Feature Requests page yet (https://slicedinvoices.com/developers/feature-requests/). I’m currently working on several other new features/extensions as well so I don’t have an ETA yet, but it is on my radar.

For the present I think you might be able to roll your own discount code system in Gravity Forms using conditional pricing fields, although to be honest I have not actually tried it myself…

    Cheers,
    David
